Lining the Perfect Eye - Eyeliner Tips
February 9th 2009 03:33
There was once a time when the line under the eye needed to resemble that of Cleopatra. That day is long gone and women (and men) are now using their eyeliner in the way it was meant to be used - as a highlight for the eye.
When highlighting the eye - the eyeliner needs to blend into the bottom and top lids to appear shaded and not precisely drawn on the eye. This effect can be easily accomplished with an extra eye shadow applicator.
Step 1: Apply the eyeliner to the top and bottom of the lid. This is where the fine line technique comes into play. The line does not need to be perfect on either lid, but does need to be thick enough to allow for proper blending.
Step 2: Blend the color up and down. The eyeliner under the eye will need to be blended up toward the eye and the top of the lid blended down. Using the eye shadow applicator, gently brush the eyeliner toward the eye until the fine line is blended and the markings of the pencil are gone.
The eyeliner technique described above is the same one used by nearly every makeup artist. You no longer have to go around looking like an Egyptian. Today, you can look like a star on the red carpet with perfect eyeliner.
