Revive That Hair By Leaving the Shampoo Behind

January 28th 2009 02:17
The scalp produces oils that protect the hair follicle and shaft from the brutality of every day life. Unfortunately, most people choose to wash away those natural oils with shampoo once or twice a day. This leaves the hair dry and damaged, so chemical conditioners are placed in the hair to give moisture where there was once natural oil. The cycle continues until the hair becomes too dry to fix with a traditional conditioner and then - for some odd reason - we think it is okay to revive our hair with HOT OIL TREATMENTS. This is absurd. The natural oils of the scalp are natures way of continually treating the hair with hot oil. How do you use those natural oils to your advantage - leave the shampoo behind.

Treating Hair With Natural Oils

For two or three days straight, every couple of weeks, try leaving the shower without putting shampoo in your hair. This will allow the hair to bask in those natural oils for a longer period of time - healing the damage done by styling and blow drying. If you need to pin up those locks and wear a hat - so be it. There is nothing wrong with trading a hat day for healthy hair.
