The Beauty and Grace of Silver Rings

August 17th 2009 20:10
From traditional to new, the style of a silver ring crosses the boundaries of fashion and falls calmly into the realm of timeless. Whether you wear one, or many, silver rings are sure to add just a bit of class to any clothing ensemble.

Traditionally, silver rings were created by heating metal and pounding until the proper shape was formed. These traditional styles remain popular today, due to the authenticity of the look they provide. Old world, traditional silver rings offer an heirloom style quality unmatched in today's jewelry world.

The style qualities of traditional silver ring jewelry is a defining characteristic. Thick pieces of metal, molded by hand created a bulky finished product. The intricate designs were reserved for the very wealthy due to the time taken to create such a piece by hand.

Silver rings created traditionally, will have the same qualities of any fine silver. Tarnishing will occur over time and the jewelry will need to be polished in order to retain the high gloss shine that is synonymous with silver.

With new advances in jewelry making, silver rings today come in brushed, shiny or traditionally pounded finishes. No longer are rings a simple circle of beauty. The silver rings of today are created in conjunction with a multitude of jewels, shapes and designs.

Unlike traditional silver rings and jewelry, new silver tends to be lighter in weight and easier to wear. Fine intricate designs are now available to the masses, thanks to the introduction of lasers in jewelry cutting. Where once, a silver ring was filed and cut by hand, today the pattern is loaded into a program and a silver ring of the most delicate design is born.

Caring for new silver rings is also a much less daunting task. The silver of today does not tarnish as quickly as old silver. Thus, the silver jewelry you choose will not have to be polished to retain that show room shine.

The most important aspect of silver rings and jewelry is their flexibility. You can wear one silver ring, or one silver ring on every finger and appear nothing less than divine.

Silver jewelry has been around for ages and through the years has managed to retain that simple elegance and style it started out assuming. From traditional silver rings to new silver rings, there is bound to be a style and design for every fashion and every person.
