The Antiaging Benefits of Green Tea

February 5th 2009 03:13
Did you know that green tea is not only great for the body but also for the skin? The ECGC present in green tea is a strong antioxidant. Antioxidants are needed to stop the spread of free radicals in the body, including on the surface and underlying layers of the skin. The green tea and the antioxidants present in that green tea, can also reverse the free radical damage by shutting down the multiplication of cells taken over by free radicals.

What Are Free Radicals?

Free radicals are a side effect of life. While there is no way to stop the contact with free radicals on a daily basis, there are ways to reduce their effect. Aside from green tea, staying away from cigarette smoke and pollutants in the air are great ways to keep the skin looking younger, longer.

The green tea used for antiaging benefits does not have to be consumed with tea alone. Using skin care products with green tea, moisturizers with green tea and facial and body cleansers with green tea are all great ways to reduce those finest of lines and deepest of wrinkles.
